
Women's Health Research Month
This March marks the second year of celebrating Women’s Health Research Month (WHRM). Led by the BC Women’s Health Foundation, WHRM celebrates the research that improves the lives of women and newborns in British Columbia and highlights the critical need to address women’s health research funding gaps.
Throughout the month, WHRI Executive Director Dr. Lori Brotto and BC Women’s Health Foundation President and CEO Cally Wesson played pivotal roles in advancing these efforts by speaking on various news outlets, including CTV Morning Live and Global News Morning.

New Postpartum Digital Hub
One of this year’s focus is a new online tool postpartumcare.ca. This is a true product of community-engagement and integrated knowledge translation. It was created from an identified need by clinicians and community members and co-created through rigorous methods. The site provides localized support to anyone in BC experiencing postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety. Further, this online tool offers new parents easy access to clear, reliable, and region-specific support, education and resources.
The creation of postpartumcare.ca was made possible through collaborations with the Women’s Health Research Institute, BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre, BC Women’s Heath Foundation, and the University of British Columbia. The generous contributions from the Diamond Foundation and Gillespie Family Foundation to ensure that new parents have the information and support they need.
