WHRI Executive Director Dr. Lori Brotto spoke to Jennifer Palma of Global News on Saturday, September 13. Dr. Brotto emphasized the ongoing fight for women’s health research funding and the importance of deepening collective knowledge on menopause.
Family physicians can support improved menopause care by engaging in relevant continuing education. There are many different interventions available to help treat common symptoms of menopause. Providers who have a strong understanding of available treatments, as well as of their patients’ individual medical histories, are well-equipped to offer support.
Dr. Brotto also brought up two important menopause resources in the interview, which you can find at the links below:
- Canadian Menopause Society Clinical Practice Guidelines
- The Menopause Society’s Patient Education Resources
October is Menopause Awareness month, and we’re gearing up to share more research and resources on this important women’s health topic. Stay tuned for more!
