Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day!
At the WHRI, we operate on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples – specifically, the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Today and every day we are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with, work alongside, and learn from the Indigenous communities with whom our research intersects.
We encourage you to join us in learning about the territories that you live, work, and play on, and how we can all support Indigenous lives, cultures, languages, and histories.
