Biography:

I am an incoming MSc student in Women’s and Children’s Health at the University of British Columbia, supervised by Dr. Roxana Geoffrion. My research focuses on understanding the psychological and physical burden of obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIs), with the goal of improving how patients are screened, supported, and heard throughout their recovery.I hold a BASc in Biomedical Engineering from UBC, where I was awarded the 2022 NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award for my work at the UBC Human Motion Biomechanics Lab. There, I developed and validated a signal processing pipeline integrating IMU sensors and force-plate data — research that trained me in the quantitative methods I now bring to women’s health. I have also worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst at the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, deepening my experience in data integrity and health regulatory systems.Alongside my research, I am passionate about making STEM and higher education more accessible. I have mentored over 55 youth and post-secondary students across various programs, including as a STEM facilitator and UBC Engineering Orientation Leader.
