Biography:

 

Dr. Rizhi Wang is a Professor in Biomaterials at the Department of Materials Engineering and the School of Biomedical Engineering, University of British Columbia, Canada. He is also an associate faculty member at the Department of Orthopaedics, and a core member at the Center for Aging SMART. Dr. Wang’s research interests include orthopaedic implants, drug delivery biomaterials, anti-infection solutions, bone structure and mineralization, as well as mechanisms and prevention of hip fracture.
Dr. Wang received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering. He held a Canada Research Chair in Biomaterials from 2002-2012, and served as the president of the Canadian Biomaterials Society in 2012-2013, and the president of the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society (2019-2020). Dr. Wang is a Fellow in Biomaterials Science and Engineering (FBSE).
