Biography:

 

Dr. Melba D’Souza is a professional nurse, educator and researcher, serving as an Associate Professor in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs at the School of Nursing, Thompson Rivers University. Her scholarship focuses on critical areas of psychosocial oncology, graduate education, supportive care, and survivorship care, intending to improve transitions in care through digital health grounded in the consolidated framework for implementation science. Her research emphasizes the needs of Indigenous, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic people, especially women’s health and wellness through care coordination and virtual health in rural communities in British Columbia. She has made significant contributions to knowledge translation and contextual evidence in co-creating new knowledge and sciences, keeping pace with the latest advancements in the nursing field. She continues to make exemplary impacts in the field of psychosocial oncology and graduate education, with a particular focus on improving social support and quality of life in Canada.
