Maier, Lauren
Biography:
Lauren is interested in women’s health, particularly how women experience different risk factors, symptoms, and outcomes of disease. She is focused on understanding how women differ from males in the regulation of the brain, to better inform treatments of cerebrovascular diseases. Her research focuses on the underlying mechanisms of these sex differences, particularly the role of sex-specific hormones like estrogen and progesterone. She hopes to expand the knowledge of how these hormones influence the regulation of the brain, in hopes of improving treatments and outcomes for women.
