Soma, Kiran
Biography:
Kiran K. Soma is a Professor and Distinguished University Scholar at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is a member of the Psychology Department and the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. Dr. Soma joined UBC in 2004. He received his BA from Stanford University, his PhD from the University of Washington, and his postdoctoral training at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has published over 150 papers on neural circuits, hormones, behaviour, and immune function and received over 10,000 citations. His laboratory is focused on local steroid production in the nervous and immune systems. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
