Biography:
Kim Barnes (she/her) is the Manager, Community Engagement and Implementation at the JP Centre for Health Systems Learning + Innovation. With more than 20 years of healthcare experience and over a decade in education, her work focuses on bridging evidence, practice, and community priorities to support meaningful health system improvement and innovation.
Kim’s interests include patient-oriented and community-based research, health equity, knowledge translation, plain language communication, and learning health systems. She is passionate about collaborative and co-design approaches that strengthen connections among people with lived experience, researchers, innovators, students, healthcare teams, and communities. Her work centers on translating evidence into action and supporting more inclusive, responsive, and adaptive approaches to healthcare improvement.
