Scherbinsky, Kerri
Biography:
Kerri completed her BSc from the University of Waterloo with a major in Biomedical Sciences and minor in Gerontology. Her passion for human reproduction, combined with an interest in the physiological and biochemical aspects of nutrition and health, have led her to pursue a PhD in Reproductive and Developmental Sciences at the University of British Columbia with a focus on human nutrition. The goal of her research is to identify sulfur amino acid requirements during pregnancy with the use of stable isotope tracers, highlighting the role of methionine in the one-carbon metabolism cycle and how this metabolic pathway serves as a bridge between maternal environment (diet) and fetal development.
