Biography:

Dr. Jill Zwicker is a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Pediatric Brain Development and Rehabilitation and a Professor at the University of British Columbia. She has 35+ years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist and is an internationally recognized expert in Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Dr. Zwicker’s research program aims to better understand potential causes of DCD, to evaluate the effect of rehabilitation on motor skill and brain development, and to inform evidence-based care to improve outcomes for children with DCD. As preterm-born children are at much higher risk of DCD, Dr. Zwicker is aiming to implement systematic screening and assessment for DCD in neonatal follow-up programs across Canada.
