Tucci, Isabella

Biography:
Isabella Tucci is a graduate student in the Neuroscience MSc program at the University of Victoria. Her research focuses on women’s brain health, specifically how hormonal changes across the menopausal transition and concussion history impact brain structure and cognitive function. She completed her Honors thesis examining the effects of pregnancy on hippocampus structure and memory performance in postmenopausal women using UK Biobank data. Now co-supervised by Dr. Jodie Gawryluk and Dr. Brian Christie, Isabella’s Master’s project builds on this work by integrating neuroimaging, hormone level analysis, and cognitive assessments to identify early biomarkers of cognitive decline in aging women. She looks forward to contributing to interdisciplinary research and working toward a future where women’s brain health is better understood and prioritized in both research and clinical practice.
