Biography:

 

Evelyn Lang is a PhD student in Human Nutrition in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and a dietitian under the supervision of Dr. Michael Zulyniak. Her research focuses on gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), maternal metabolism, and postpartum health. She is particularly interested in postpartum weight retention and metabolic alterations during and after pregnancy, with the goal of identifying modifiable nutritional and lifestyle factors that support long-term maternal health. Her work applies systematic review and meta-analysis methods, as well as R-based statistical modelling, to examine nutritional interventions, metabolic outcomes, and cultural dietary patterns in women’s perinatal health.
