Christopher Maxwell
Biography:
Dr. Chris Maxwell obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences (Oncology) from the University of Alberta before completing postdoctoral fellowships at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California and the Catalan Institute of Oncology in Barcelona Spain. He is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia and an Investigator with the Michael Cuccione Childhood Cancer Research Program at the BC Children’s Hospital, where he co-leads the Childhood Cancer and Blood Research Group. Dr. Maxwell and his team research mechanisms that ensure appropriate, balanced cell division with the goal to better understand and treat childhood and hereditary cancers.
