Biography:

Catalina Ionescu completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in May 2023, followed by a Master of Public Health (MPH) at UBC, which she completed in May 2025. Her academic and professional interests are grounded in a deep commitment to advancing maternal and fetal health, with a particular focus on the intersection of health equity and policy. Throughout her MPH program, Catalina pursued research and practice opportunities that centred on reproductive health, perinatal outcomes, and the social determinants of health. She is especially passionate about using data-driven insights to inform health system improvements and support equitable outcomes for birthing individuals and families.
