Lacouture, Aurélie
Biography:
Dr. Aurélie Lacouture is a postdoctoral Research Fellow working in the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain laboratory led by Dr. Paul Yong and in close relationships with the Molecular and Advanced Pathology Core (MAPcore), a core facility leader in the spatial “omics” approach in BC, co-led by Dr. David Huntsman. Her current research focuses on innervation and molecular pathways involved in the pain mechanism in endometriosis tissues using spatial approaches. Dr. Lacouture is part of the 2026 Canada Postdoctoral Research Award (CPRA) recipient from the Canadian Institute for Health Research and a co-applicant on the Genome Canada GAPP grant application that funds her current research project. She holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the Université Laval in Québec, where she studied the impact of estrogen on the mammary gland metabolism in the laboratory of Dr. Étienne Audet-Walsh and did both her MSc and BSc equivalent at the Universities of Bordeaux and Limoges in France. She is also a member of the Intersectoral Centre for Endocrine Disruptor Analysis (CIAPE-ICEDA), a research network of scientists based in Canada and worldwide whose mission is to inform on how to identify, recognize, quantify and manage endocrine disruptors.
