WHRI Skidmore Goodman Research Wet Laboratory

About the lab

The WHRI Skidmore Goodman Lab is dedicated to foundational women’s health research, with the generous support of the Skidmore Goodman family, BC Women’s Hospital Foundation, the Women’s Health Research Institute, and BC Women’s Hospital.  The lab offers WHRI investigators on the BC Children’s and Women’s hospital campus the opportunity to request pilot experiments to be done by lab staff in order to produce preliminary data that will promote new discoveries to benefit the health of women.

For all general requests and inquires, please email whriwetlab@cw.bc.ca

All WHRI investigators who would like the WHRI Skidmore Goodman Lab staff to perform pilot experiments are required to submit a Protocol Proposal Form to obtain approval. The form requires a description of the project, detailed protocol, project funding information and ethics approval status. Please click the “submit” button to send your completed form.

The WHRI Skidmore Goodman Lab staff meets regularly to review submitted Protocol Proposal Forms. As part of the application process a budget needs to be created. All WHRI investigators will need to provide funding for materials/reagents to do the experiments, as well as funding for the WHRI Skidmore Goodman Lab staff labour costs. Approved proposals will receive an email for further consultation about budgeting. Please read the Investigator Request Policy prior to submitting.

The lab currently offers the following equipment:

  • Bench space for sample preparation
  • Fume hood
