WHRI Research Facilities
The WHRI Investigators have access to two core web lab facilities on the Oak Street Campus: the Skidmore-Goodman Wet Lab and the BC Women’s Research Lab.
Translational research in these laboratories span a range of areas, such as reproductive infectious diseases, HIV in pregnancy, recurrent pregnancy loss, and endometriosis.

Skidmore-Goodman Wet Lab
BC Women's Research Lab
Equipment is available for services such as:
- Tissue processing
- Cell culture
- Real-time PCR ELISA, Western blot
- Bright field and fluorescence imaging

- Perinatal Research IMaging and Evaluation (PRIME) Centre: an ultrasound research facility and hub for researchers to collaborate and to advance health care through the use of cutting edge technology.
- BC Children’s Hospital Biobank: The BioBank collects samples such as blood, tissue, bone marrow, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and pregnancy-related samples such as placenta, cord blood, and maternal blood from patients who are seeking care at either BCCH or BCWH. These samples are available on request for ethically-approved research projects worldwide.
