Dr. Germaine Tuyisenge
Biography:
Dr. Germaine Tuyisenge (she/her) is an incoming Assistant Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (London, UK). Dr. Tuyisenge completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Centre for Gender & Sexual Health Equity (2020-2021), working on the IRIS Project under the supervision of Dr. Shira Goldenberg. She is a Fellow of Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Scholarship (Kenya, 2015), a bridge placement that she undertook in between her Masters from the University of Western Ontario (2015) and her PhD program at Simon Fraser University (2020) both in health geography. Dr. Tuyisenge’s research focuses on access to sexual and reproductive health services. Prior to undertaking graduate studies, she worked with government and non-government institutions in Rwanda (her home country), Kenya and the Netherlands in the areas of community health promotion among women and continuing professional development for maternal, newborn and child health.
