Houlihan, Sara
Biography:
Dr. Houlihan is a Clinical Associate Professor and head of the section of Urogynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of British Columbia. She graduated from the University of Alberta Medical School, did her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UBC and then completed a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) in Calgary, Alberta. Dr Houlihan’s clinical practice is focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders. She is actively engaged in research with specific interest in creating infrastructure to improve patient access to providers who manage pelvic floor disorders. Her passion is quality improvement through which she is currently serving as a mentor in the specialist services of BC Consultant Specialist Team Care (CSTC). She continues to practice obstetrics and is the lead of the Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS) clinic of BC.
