Biography:

Jasper (he/him) is a queer, trans, neurodiverse life sciences researcher and activist who is passionate about systematically dismantling barriers to build pathways for underrepresented groups to become researchers, rather than just subjects. Jasper has a unique professional experience of working in street- and community-based harm reduction, institutionally in policy development and science communication, and academically as a Master’s student under the guidance of Dr. Elizabeth Rideout at the University of British Columbia, where he currently studies sex differences in neuronal lipid metabolism.
