Biography:

 

Seraphina completed a Bachelor of Science in the Biochemistry (Honours) program at UVic, investigating how human endothelial cells respond to Treponema pallidum, the causative agent of syphilis, compared to other stimuli. She plans to continue her interest in investigating the human host response to T. pallidum in her Master’s degree by characterizing the response of human macrophages to the bacterium using a multi-omics approach.
