Biography:

 

Dr. Melina Albanese, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia. She completed her BSc in Biology at the University of British Columbia (2018), MSc in Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia (2021), and PhD in Public Health Sciences (Epidemiology program) at the University of Toronto (2025). Her research has a substantive focus on reproductive and perinatal health, with particular interest in psychiatric and somatic conditions during pregnancy. Her work examines how maternal health influences maternal, pregnancy, neonatal, and offspring outcomes, with the goal of addressing health disparities and improving care for vulnerable populations.
