The topic of my thesis is to analyze the effectiveness of the SmartMom text messaging program in reducing the severity of depression among pregnant women enrolled in the program. During my tenure as an Administrative Assistant at UBC, I worked with a team of professors & researchers to conduct detailed research about the educational curriculum in the public health graduate programs in North America. I hold an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Dhaka University, Bangladesh as well as a graduate degree in Master of Public Health from North South University , Bangladesh. After my completion degree, I had worked in a UK-based NGO which primarily worked with marginalized women and children from the rural areas of Bangladesh to provide them with economic and social empowerment. The project’s mandate is based on UN’s sustainable development goals such as reducing poverty & promoting gender equality. The functions of my role encompassed various facets such as providing primary health care, research analysis and project management.
