Saima Hirani
Biography:
Dr. Saima Hirani is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Her research interests focus on mental health and mental health promotion of individuals and families, particularly women and youth living in vulnerable and high-risk conditions. Her research focuses on empowering people, emphasizing what factors and interventions can enhance the capacity of individuals, families, and communities so they can take control over their own mental health and support others’ well-being. Working with multidisciplinary teams, her research provides key insights to guide health care providers, researchers, and policy makers to improve practices and approaches pertaining to mental health promotion.
