Judith Soon
Biography:
Dr. Judith Soon, BSc (Pharm), RPh, ACPR, MSc, Dipl (Epidemiology & Biostatistics), PhD, FCSHP Assistant Professor | UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Member | UBC Department of Family Practice, Pharmacist Expert, Women’s Reproductive Health Dr. Judith Soon has extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice and outcomes research. She has developed a province-wide community pharmacy-based consulting clinical practice for residential care, facilitated the conduct of population-based studies into emergency contraception use in BC, developed a UBC-based Community Pharmacist Research Network and has been a consultant to the Continuing Care Division in the BC Ministry of Health and to Health Canada. As a reproductive health educator, she is leading public health research programs to enhance options for women’s reproductive health. Dr. Soon is the National Pharmacist Expert on Women’s Reproductive Health and is providing ongoing education to Canadian pharmacists enabling them to directly provide options for reproductive health ranging from prescribing contraception, providing emergency contraception, and dispensing Mifegymiso for medical abortion. She has recently been awarded the 2017 CPhA Patient Care Achievement Award for Innovation for her reproductive health initiatives.
