Rana Van Tuyl
Biography:
With a background in health research and communication management, Rana Van Tuyl is passionate about working alongside organizations and communities to address complex challenges by connecting applied research with policy development and practice. Rana’s applied research interests explore social determinants of health, including access to quality health care, housing, income security, and social inclusion/non-discrimination. Rana holds a Doctor of Social Sciences degree from Royal Roads University, with a focus on miscarriage recovery in British Columbia. She is portfolio leader for Addiction Medicine and Substance Use with Island Health and a board director for the Nanaimo Brain Injury Society and for the Butterfly Run.
