Fontaine, Christine

Biography:

Generally, I am interested in learning and memory processes during normal and abnormal development. I study the impact of teratogen exposure (in the form of substances of abuse such as alcohol and cannabis) on postnatal neurodevelopment and learning and memory processes with a keen interest in potential sex differences in these outcomes. In particular, I use in vitro electrophysiology to examine long-term potentiation (LTP) and various forms of typical and atypical long-term depression (LTD) in the dentate gyrus (DG) of the hippocampus.
