Bone, Jeffrey
Biography:
Jeffrey Bone is the Lead Biostatistician as well as an Investigator at BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Statistics at UBC. In these roles he works across a range of methodological and applied disciplines. His research activity is split between exploration of statistical methods and collaborative research with clinical and public health colleagues.
He has worked extensively in perinatal epidemiology and maternal health with a focus on application of causal inference methods to understanding factors contributing to elevated maternal and perinatal risks. Specific areas include gestational age specific risk modeling, obesity in pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, and maternal global health.
Methodologically, Jeff is interested in causal inference methods, such as target trial emulation and quantitative bias analyses applied to observational data, and on design of randomized controlled trials.
Research areas of interest:
Causal inference, randomized controlled trials, administrative data, gestational age specific risks
