Important Update

Dear Women’s Health Research Institute members and staff,

Amid growing global concerns around COVID-19, the Women’s Health Research Institute (WHRI) has elected to take measures to help protect the health and well-being of staff, and the vulnerable patients seeking care on the C&W campus. Following guidance set by the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), the University of British Columbia, and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, the WHRI will be taking the following measures:

  • Starting Monday, March 16th the WHRI offices will be closed. WHRI staff will be equipped to work remotely, and all in-person meetings will be moved to virtual meetings or teleconference. The doors to our administrative offices (H214) will be locked.
  • Workshops and events hosted by or in partnership with the WHRI will be postponed, or moved to virtual meetings, where appropriate and feasible.
  • WHRI staff will be in close communication with PIs and other members of research teams to discuss any impact on recruitment or other research activities during this time.

We thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any questions, please direct them to whri_cwbc@cw.bc.ca.

PHSA staff can access a recording of the March 13th town hall online. There is also a dedicated area on the POD for the latest updates.

To stay informed about the outbreak, the BCCDC and World Health Organization websites are trusted sources of information.
