After completing my PhD in Scotland, I came to Vancouver in 2005 with my husband of two weeks. I worked at BC Women’s Hospital as the Director of Women’s Health Research for 6 years, before following my calling and completing my midwifery training at UBC. I am now living the dream working as a full-time midwife at South, while also conducting research projects, with the aim of making childbirth more evidence-based! When I am not having fun catching babies and leading research studies, I love spending time outdoors with my husband and children, Nola, 7 and Oban, 5. I also love to spend my time doing yoga and trail running. I am a vegetarian – from the day I was born – and I love cooking (and eating!) all things vegetarian! I truly believe I have the very best job in the world and I am so thrilled to join the team at South, where I spent my senior year in midwifery school.
