Biography:

Dr. Lisa Reynolds is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Victoria, and is a Michael Smith Health Research BC Scholar. Her lab works to understand how the inhabitants of the intestinal tract- including bacteria and parasites- can impact the development and functioning of the mammalian immune system throughout life.

Research areas of interest:

Immune development; microbiota-parasite-immune interactions; parasitic infections; bacterial infections; identification of immunomodulatory metabolites; antibiotic-mediated disruption of the microbiota and impact on immune development and functioning; immune system changes during pregnancy and postpartum.
