WHRI Attends the Northern Health Research Days Conference
 | |
On November 8th and 9th 2016, members of the WHRI (Gina Ogilvie, Kathryn Dewar, Nicole Prestley, and myself) visited Prince George, B.C. to attend the annual Northern Health Research Days conference, where this year’s theme was Making Research Matter: Celebrating Evidence Implementation in Northern BC. Researchers affiliated with a variety of units and organizations in the North, including the Northern and First Nations Health Authorities, the University of Northern British Columbia and its Health Research Institute, as well as the University Hospital, came together to showcase their research successes and celebrate partnerships. We delivered a presentation to introduce people to the WHRI and we hosted a breakfast session during which we had opportunities to engage in dialogue with northern researchers. In between sessions, we had rich conversations about how we might partner to advance women's health research in BC, and how we might expand the research agenda to a broader provincial network. We look forward to 2017 where the seeds of these conversations and connections will sprout and continue in the years ahead. Thank you to the warm and hospitable individuals we met and interacted with in Prince George, and see you at Research days 2017!
